Zen Dog’s Mission and Philosophy
Zen Dogs Center (ZDC) was created for the mental and physical health of all dogs, big and small. Our mission is centered around the happiness of dogs and their owners. We believe in only humane treatment of animals; it is our belief that all animals deserve genuine positivity, fairness, respect, understanding, affection, and of course, lifelong relationships with other dog friends and the ZDC staff who take care of them!
Our dog daycare program is not just about letting dogs play, it is providing the right experiences so that all the dogs can remain enriched and play safely while learning their everyday manners.
We know that in order to achieve success and harmony for our zen dogs, it is most important to recognize their innate behaviors, and help them adapt to our daycare setting. At Zen Dogs, we take a holistic approach to each dog in our care, always considering their full picture—emotional well-being, social development, and individual needs. Our goal is to help every dog experience fulfillment, success, and joy in our daycare environment.
We focus on teaching dogs how to engage appropriately with their peers, which includes intentional supervision and gentle redirection, especially for young or easily overstimulated pups. Whether it's encouraging rest, helping them reset, or guiding them toward healthy play, we invest the time it takes to support lasting behavioral growth.
We're proud of the positive outcomes we see—many of our clients report meaningful improvements in their dogs' behavior at home, which we see as a reflection of the mindful work we do every day!
WE ARE THE WHOLE PACKAGE!
We believe in positive reinforcement training, and our staff are trained in dog behavior, safe canine management, and canine First Aide and CPR. Each time your dog visits ZDC, our Rufferees pay close attention to anything “amiss” - they will always strive to notice any changes in energy levels, lumps, bumps, scratches, and of course we hold a minor in “poopology” (haha) and daily we check (and clean up immediately) your dog’s eliminations to make sure all looks good! We also watch for behavioral differences. We have a Behavioral Specialist on staff (Lynn Wunderli) to help in cases where we see changes in your dog’s roubehaviors. Our clients are always contacted via phone or email, or at pick up of any ‘notes’ we’d like to share. We believe in caring for the whole dog - and our program is designed to teach everyday manners, appropriate and fun play, and maintaining enriching relationships with our Rufferees and Management Team.
We strive for excellence, and to exceed every client’s expectations. We seek a lifelong relationship with each of our families and their zen dogs!
leadership
Zen Dogs Center owners, Lynn Wunderli & Kori Keene, are thrilled to partner together to be your choice for the care and socialization of your dog. Together, they share a combined total of over 4 decades of professional dog experience. Their knowledge of dog training, dog behavior, social and mental balance of play groups, and raw passion for dogs will be brought to life at their beautiful facility that they have designed from the ground up!
Zen Dogs Center is truly a “dream come true” for both Lynn and Kori. Since both of their childhoods, these ladies have had a love and passion for animals, and the humans that adore them.
Lynn and Kori’s life-long experiences, both personal and professional, connected them in what seemed like a “meant to be” encounter. The two quickly realized they shared similar views and training styles as they relate to dogs, and also mirrored each other’s personal values and overall love of life and family. Their friendship became a strong bond strengthened by a mutual admiration, trust, and respect for one another.
The idea to co-own a dog day care business together, that would build on their vision of wellness, training, and balance in play groups, was something that wasn’t even a hesitation for them. They were supported 100% by their family and friends, who knew the two of them together would be a powerful pair in the dog industry.
Zen Dogs Center’s ideas and visions are being brought to life at their brand new dog day care center (2019) that they have designed with ZEN in mind for all who attend--both dogs and their parents! They are thrilled to be able to begin this journey together, and bring to you a concept that both have shared and worked for since they were just little girls.
