Winter Weather Protocol
We want to share our Winter Weather Closing Protocol with you, so you won't have any questions if/when we get bad weather.
When will Zen Dogs close?
The most important thing to know is that Zen Dogs Center will close whenever the Waunakee School District closes for any winter weather-related reason.
This is a change from our previous policy! We will now also close when the school district closes due to extreme cold. While this doesn’t happen often, if it does, it means conditions are dangerously cold, and we believe it’s safest for both our staff and your dogs to stay out of the weather.
1) How will you know if we’re closed?
Check the Waunakee School District’s closing announcement. If schools close for a winter weather-related reason, Zen Dogs will close, too.
Watch for a message from us! We’ll send an email and/or text message and post an update on Facebook and Instagram. Please note that emails and text messages may be sent only to customers whose daycare day is affected by the closure.
2) What if school is not in session?
If the Waunakee School District is already closed for winter break, staff development days, or other scheduled days off, we’ll evaluate the weather forecast and decide whether Zen Dogs will open or close.
In these situations, we’ll notify affected customers by email and/or text message and post an update on Facebook and Instagram.
